Cambridge United is a League One Association Football club from Cambridge. Having been promoted in the year 2020/21, Cambridge United have enjoyed two seasons in English Football’s third tier where average attendance has grown year on year. As part of this growth, Cambridge United have prioritised fan experience as a key area for improvement, and it was Buoy’s pleasure to help add to this Abbey atmosphere through a commission for a mural art piece.
Services Provided:
- Illustration of a printed mural for external use at the Abbey Stadium, home of Cambridge United.
- Elements within the mural were made to be universal for application in brand materials and on other areas of the stadium.
Conclusion
Using terms and images from throughout the club’s history, Buoy Digital created a memorable and nostalgic mural for the ever-faithful Amber Army. However, it has also proven popular with the thousands of away fans from all over the UK that visit the Abbey Stadium each week.
Not only has the mural since appeared in club marketing material and in the videos of large YouTubers, but Buoy was also proud to see it adorned on the cover of a matchday programme during the 21/22 season.
