Started by three friends with a passion for cinematography, it was crucial that Trench Productions had a brand image that reflected the handcrafted and non-corporate way in which they approach their work. Trench Productions came to us a completely fresh slate to work on, and we had a great time branding them with a crude, rustic, but effective, brand look that would make sense to their European, indie filmmaking clients.
Services Provided:
- Creation of a complete brand identity, with full set of company assets for use throughout company materials.
- Sketching and animation of company logo to create a production ident in a stop-motion style.
- Custom brand typography, with full support for the Latin character subset.
- Development of a full website, including full optimisation and support on the back-end.
Challenges:
- No present brand identity beyond the company name.
- The brand needed to feel culturally relevant and applicable to European nations beyond the UK
- No website to begin pitching to clients.
- Uncertainty about how the company’s ident should look.
Conclusion
The creation of a brand world allowed Trench Productions to begin pitching their services to local filmmakers around Plymouth and begin application processes for national grants. The website created a portal through which Trench Productions could show off their portfolio of work and take on new clients, all neatly wrapped up in a hand-drawn aesthetic with a custom typeface to bolster this look.
